Application Guidelines

Introduction:

The Itahari International Film Festival (IIFF) will be held from November 23 to 26, 2018 in Itahari Sunsari, By screening some of the most recent and exciting films about people, development, society, cultures from various corners of the world, IIFF seeks to celebrate the complexity and diversity of human life.

We shortlist 50+ short films for the competition, viewed by an international jury. Filmmakers can choose whether or not to submit their films for competition. Accepted films not selected for competition will be screened and be eligible for the Audience Award.

Criteria

Films made after Januaru 2016 will be eligible to apply for the competition. The entries can be documentaries, full-length features, shorts, animation or experimental.

Entry conditions

Entry is free of cost who fulfill the mentioned criteria. Entries without the duly completed entry form will not be considered.

Please ensure following criteria is fulfilled to apply:

  1. All entries must be accompanied by a labeled film promo image (800px * 600px/ 72 dpi)
  2. Film synopsis in approximately 100 words
  3. Short bio of film director

Note*: Films once entered cannot be withdrawn. The entrants themselves must cover the cost of mailing the films to IIFF. The festival will not be responsible for any loss, damage, and/or delay of films.

Submission deadline for entries

All entries must reach the IIFF Secretariat by 5:00 PM (GMT+4:45), September 1st, 2018.

Sending procedures

Entries for selection will be accepted only in MP4 format either sent to us by downloadable ‘direct’ link (Vimeo, Google Drive, Dropbox etc.) or submit through appropriate method.

Film selection

All entries will be viewed by a film selection committee and the selection will be completed by September 15, 2018. The directors and /or producers of accepted entries will be immediately notified and requested to send copies in professional video formats for screening at the festival. The festival does not send out rejection letters.

The film selection committee will decide whether the films selected for competition.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE FOR FINAL PRINT OF SELECTED ENTRIES

The professional video format for screening should reach the IIFF Secretariat by 23rd September, 2018.

Jury and awards

Following award will be awarded to 5 best documentary films chosen by an international jury.

  1. Best fiction international : $500
  2. Best non fiction international :$500
  3. Best fiction national : $400
  4. Best non fiction national :$400
  5. Special jury mentioned :

Certificate and trophy will be awarded to all above categories.
